RESPONSIBILITES OF LOCAL CHAPTER OFFICERS

President

  • Serve as liaison with the Academy's national office
  • Serve as contact person for those interested in joining the local chapter
  • · Determine needs for the local chapter members through information obtained in the " New Member Questionnaire" forms
  • Coordinate the planning of regular chapter meetings including arranging the guest speakers and locations, dates and times of the meetings
  • Conduct local chapter meetings
  • Ensure certification examinations are administered correctly and that proctors understand the rules to be followed during exams
  • Sign on checking account
  • Submit various documentation to the national office

         President-Elect

  • Assist president in determining needs of local chapter members
  • Assist president in coordinating the planning of regular chapter meetings
  • Maintain supply of informational materials to be distributed at meetings
  • Hold elections near the end of the term of service
  • Assume the role of president after serving as president-elect for one term

         New Member Development Officer

  • Serve as mentor to new members attending chapter meetings and assist with networking
  • Establish relationships with local PMCC instructors to involve students in chapter events
  • Facilitate fall networking chapter event

        Education Officer

  • Assist in the coordination of the educational content of chapter meetings
  • Apply for CEUs for chapter meetings, seminars and review classes (available on line)
  • Complete and distribute Certificate of Attendance/CEU Credits form with the AAPC assigned index number

        Secretary

  • Maintain a list of the local members including addresses and phone numbers
  • Prepare and distribute meeting notices
  • Submit various documentation to the national office

      Treasurer

  • Maintain chapter funds, specifically the checking account
  • Sign on chapter checking account
  • Request a local chapter reimbursement from the Academy's national office by submitting the "Meeting Attendance Request for Reimbursement" form
  • Give quarterly report on chapter monies at local chapter meetings
  • Submit the " Profit and Loss Statement" annually to the Academy's national office by January 31
