Theresa is currently employed as a Senior Compliance Auditor for the Yale Medical Group.  Her auditing responsibilities include: clinical trials, psychiatry, critical care, pulmonary and oncology.  Additional responsibilities include: billing compliance and clinical trial training programs.

 She has worked in the healthcare field for the past 20 years.  Her experience includes nursing practice in medicine, surgery, oncology, mental health, substance abuse and ER medicine.

Her administrative experience includes performance improvement management, grant implementation and monitoring, compliance auditing, billing, utilization management and the development and implementation of training programs.   Theresa received her CPC certification in 2001 and has served on the board of the New Haven Local AAPC Chapter.

• Assumed project management lead role in the translation of the clinical operations to successfully transition from a third party coding, billing and collection function from an outside vendor to Yale Medical Group for billing and collections.
• Incorporated the coding of 360,000+ Diagnostic Radiology exams using an on line coding software which required hiring coding staff, organizing workflow distribution, and development of monitoring workflow performance of four IT interface systems internally and externally.
• Worked with Yale ITS to data warehouse the historical data of the outside vendor coding, billing and collection activity for legal, audit and patient requests.
• Set up outstanding AR as a result of the vendor termination collection activity with an outside agency in order to collect all outstanding claims.

Patricia Waleski, CPC is currently employed as a Compliance Auditor for the Yale Medical Group.  Her auditing responsibilities include: OB/GYN, ER Medicine, Genetics, Internal Medicine Areas:  Education, Nephrology, Occupational, and Rheumatology.  She also handles the excluded process for the compliance office.

Pat has worked in the healthcare field for the past 25 years.  Prior to her transition to Yale she worked for the Medicare Part B carrier in Connecticut.

She received her CPC certification in 1999.
