President
Geraldine Cotton, CPC

I hold a BS degree from Southern New Hampshire University.  I have been a Certified Professional Coder since 1997 and a member of the New Haven Chapter of the AAPC since its inception.

My coding experience spans more than 20 years.  My experience includes that of medical records director at the Community Health Care Plan, which included coding and provider education.  I am a former employee of the Yale University Medical Group where I was employed as a team leader for billing and insurance follow up.  For 8 years, I was employed as coder and educator for an orthopedic group.  Presently, I am employed at the Hospital of Saint Raphael, having worked as an outpatient coder since 2001.  I was recently promoted to Senior Coder Analyst/Team Leader for Saint Raphael Faculty Physicians.

Since becoming a certified coder, I have been an avid supporter of the New Haven Chapter, attending both local and national conferences as well as other educational seminars to advance my coding knowledge. It is my hope that you will give me the opportunity to serve as your President Elect.
